The first Blue Bottle Coffee café in Thailand, the Bangkok flagship seeks to create a new café landscape where local culture resonates with the brand’s distinct identity. At the heart of the space is an object inspired by Thailand’s traditional lantern festivals, evoking the silhouette of a lantern drifting through the sky. Extending boldly from the ceiling above the drip station, the object is rendered in Blue Bottle Coffee’s iconic blue, giving rise to what we call the “Blue Lantern.” Its vivid blue presence commands the center of the space, expressing the brand’s identity in a dynamic and unmistakable way. Gold, a color associated with good fortune, is incorporated throughout the interior, layering local cultural references onto the world of the brand. Teak, a material deeply familiar in Thailand, is used for the furniture and fixtures. The warmth of the wood, contrasted with the vivid blue, creates a fresh interpretation of the Blue Bottle experience—one that evokes a bright and distinctive vision of the future. Lighting is integrated indirectly into the Blue Lantern and along its lower edges. Soft, graduated shadows emerge across its surface, creating the sensation that the object itself is floating in the air and lending the space a light, dreamlike atmosphere. The result is a landscape where a global brand appears to descend gently into a space rooted in local culture and materials, creating a new expression of Blue Bottle Coffee in Bangkok.

タイ初上陸となるブルーボトルコーヒーのバンコク旗艦店。目指したのは現地の文化とブランドのアイデンティティが響き合う、新たなカフェの風景。空間の象徴となるのはタイの伝統的なランタン祭りから着想を得た、天を舞う姿を連想させるオブジェクト。ドリップステーションの天井から大きく張り出すその姿を、ブルーボトルコーヒーのアイコニックカラーであるブルーで大胆に表現し、 "ブルーランタン”とした。鮮やかなブルーのオブジェクトは、空間の中心で強い存在感を放ちながら、ブランドの個性をダイナミックに発信している。また、幸運を象徴するゴールドを随所に散りばめることで、ブランドの世界観の中に土地に根付く文化的背景を重ねた。什器や家具には現地で馴染みの深いチーク材を用い、素材の温もりと鮮やかなブルーのコントラストによって、他にはない明るい未来を感じる、新鮮なブルーボトルが体験できる。​​照明はブルーランタンの内部や足元など、光が間接的に入るようデザイン。柔らかなグラデーションの陰影が浮かび上がることで、まるで空間そのものが空中に浮遊しているかのような感覚を生み出し、軽やかで幻想的な雰囲気を与えている。ローカルの文化や素材が息づく空間に、グローバルブランドが舞い降りるような風景をつくり上げた。
