An installation for Okamura at ORGATEC TOKYO. This project sought to create a space where YAA—a system furniture collection that introduces the new category of “blending furniture”—could be experienced both physically and conceptually as a landscape. Inspired by YAA’s soft shifts in height and elegant curves, the installation expands beyond the scale of furniture to gently shape the entire space. Its continuous lines quietly guide movement and sightlines, while the scenery changes with each step—overlapping, unfolding, and never the same. Circulation, pauses, and chance encounters are absorbed into a spatial condition that is at once divided and continuous. As relationships between people, furniture, and space overlap, the environment forms a coherent field of interaction. Subtle changes in floor level introduce a three-dimensional quality to human movement. Individual presences accumulate and intersect, forming a unified yet expansive terrain. Within a restrained palette, these gentle undulations establish a quiet atmosphere distinct from the surrounding exhibition hall. The space is illuminated solely by indirect lighting integrated into the walls. In the dimly lit venue, soft light quietly traces the contours of the curves, while layered shadows evoke a landscape reminiscent of gentle mountain ranges. These serene, almost mysterious layers of light lend the space a profound sense of depth and resonance, gradually enveloping visitors as they move through it. Scattered throughout the installation, fragments of text evoke the presence of dialogue unfolding within the space, bringing YAA’s possibilities to the audience. As the landscape continuously shifts through the movement of people, the installation resists becoming a fixed object; instead, it emerges as a living scene activated by human presence. Within it, YAA’s philosophy of blending and connecting people and territories quietly endures.

オルガテック東京におけるオカムラのインスタレーション。「ブレンディングファニチュア」という新たなカテゴリーのシステム家具「YAA」が持つ美しさや、人と領域が「まざりつながる」という思想を空間全体へと拡張し、一つの風景として体験できる場を目指した。YAAの特徴である柔らかな高低差と優雅な曲線は、家具のスケールを超えて空間全体へと広がり、緩やかなランドスケープを形成する。連続するラインは人々の動きや視線を静かに導き、歩みを進めるたびに風景は重なり、ほどけ、絶えずその表情を変えていく。回遊や滞在、偶然の出会いを受け止めながら、空間は緩やかな境界を生み出し、同時につながり合う。人と人、人と家具、人と空間の関係性が重なり合うことで、YAAの思想が身体的な体験として立ち上がる。床面にも高低差を設けることで、人の流れは立体的な動きを獲得し、それぞれの居場所や気配が折り重なりながら、一つの大きな地形のような風景を描き出している。抑制された色彩の中に現れる穏やかな起伏は、会場の喧騒から切り離された静かな領域を生み出した。空間を照らす光は、壁面に組み込まれた間接照明のみで構成されている。照度を抑えた会場の中で、柔らかな光が曲線の輪郭を静かに浮かび上がらせ、幾重にも重なる陰影が穏やかな山並みのような風景を描き出す。静謐でどこか神秘的な光のレイヤーは空間に深い奥行きと余韻を与え、訪れる人々をゆっくりと包み込んでいく。随所に散りばめられた言葉の表現は、空間の中で交わされる対話の気配を映し出し、YAAが持つ多様な可能性を浮かび上がらせる。人々の動きによって風景は絶えず変化し続け、空間は完成されたオブジェクトではなく、人の存在によって初めて立ち上がるひとつの風景として現れる。そこには、人と領域がまざり、つながるというYAAの思想が息づいている。
